| Presenting the Coffee Machine That Reads Minds
Coffee machine company says it will lead the way for "super-automatic" coffee machines that use artificial intelligence. This new breed of learning coffee makers could be introduced in the next several years, predicts coffee machine retailer. Lafayette, IN (PRWEB) April 24, 2007 -- It sounds like something out of a sci fi novel: futuristic appliances that turn on and prepare favorite recipes based on their owner's thoughts. But for Lafayette, Indiana based JL Hufford Coffee and Tea, such a future is not all that distant. Today, the company announced that it has begun provisional patent exploration into coffee machines that learn and react to their users. James Pappas, JL Hufford Coffee and Tea's Product Manager, believes that the technology enabling an appliance to learn and react to its user's preferences, so-called "ubiquitous computing", is already both available and affordable.

LaFont hires lifelong chef
PASCAGOULA -- Greg Buschmohle got his first restaurant job in his hometown of Detroit when he was 10, and 43 years later he has brought all that he has learned to the LaFont Inn in Pascagoula. Buschmohle was recently hired as the LaFont's new executive chef after he turned down offers in New York and Boston. Although Buschmohle has either been owner or consultant with 68 different restaurants the past 30 years, the LaFont gig is only his fourth job. He became executive chef of Bayside Grill in Orange Beach, Ala., in 1995 and also owned Quality Restaurants, which had seven different operations. The hurricanes in 2003 and 2004 hurt much of his restaurants that were located in vacation areas of Alabama and Florida. Numerous Pascagoula residents have condominiums and other associations in Orange Beach, which is where Buschmohle and Ed Trehern, one of the LaFont owners, began a friendship several years ago after Trehern frequented Bayside Grill.

BEAN COUNTING giant Ernst & Young received a summons from AMD in the continuing and still to be very much continued antitrust case the chip firm is making against Intel. It like many another that have been subpoenad, is asked to give details of Intel microprocessor pricing, exceptions to corporate approved pricing, and MDF which is not a kind of wood substitute but is shorthand in the computer industry for marketing development funds. We have no idea of what the Mother of all Programs (MOAP) incentive scheme refers to because we haven't heard about this one before. Sounds jolly interesting though, no? .

Tainted chow should serve as wake-up call for pet owners
With 91 dog and cat foods on a much-publicized recall list as of Saturday, this just may be a wake-up call for pet owners to take a good look at what they actually are feeding their pets. A mass recall of tainted foods began in mid-March. The blame for the renal illnesses in dogs and cats is being blamed on bad wheat gluten from China. Some of the chow on the list include top-of-the-line products like Nutro Max Cat Gourmet and Science Diet Feline Savory Cuts for cats, and Eukanuba, Iams, Mighty Dog and Alpo brands for dogs. Several dog treat brands also have been added to the list. As of last weekend, www.itchmo.com, a Web site for pet owners, reports no dry foods have been recalled. Dr. Ronald Schwab, who owns a veterinary practice in Standish, said now may be a good time to start making pet food at home.
